In Parque Nacional Queulat there is a natural phenomenon known as Ventisquero Colgante (the hanging glacier).

The glacier only can extend down to where the valley it occupies ends at the top of a cliff. Every so often a part of the glacier that hangs over the precipice (hey! quit pushing!) breaks off and large chunks of glacial ice fall hundreds of feet.

The hanging glacier with waterfalls
of glacial melt.
Our intrepid boat pilot.
Geezers n glacier. Look closely…it’s up there!
The trail goes across this suspension bridge, over the roiling rapids below.
View from the bridge.
Wouldn’t want to kayak it.
Ok, here is a clearer foto taken in better conditions (no clouds in the way).
This is an online foto (not sure whose)
and we might assume it was taken
with better equipment too?

I had to buy this wine!
The Ventisquero Colgante is an iconic
natural wonder in Chile.
