Today’s trek was through the rain forest
to view waterfalls.
Huilo Huilo Falls
The hike through the rain forest revealed
some incredible tree specimens.

For your edification:

“The Huilo Huilo Biological Reserve in Chile is a temperate rain forest rich in biodiversity, characterized by its ancient Nothofagus-type forest. Key tree species include towering coigües, lengas, ñirres, tepas, olivillos, arrayanes, mañíos, and the prominent ulmo, with some
trees reaching over 40 meters.”

It’s great to be a geezer in Chile
Hiking down the valley for around 30 minutes, we came across another
roaring waterfall – Salto del Puma.
There were 3 viewing hammocks situated around a giant Nothofagus dombeyi, or Coihue tree.
They made it fun to lay back and comfortably view
the top of the woodland giant!
