High Mountain Geezers

Don and I left this morning for 3 days in the high mountains at Double Cabin Campground.

Double Cabin Campground is a remote, high-elevation alpine site featuring 14 units, vault toilets, and a hand-pump water spigot. It sits at 9,300 feet elevation where Frontier Creek meets Wiggins Fork in the Shoshone National Forest right on the border of the Washakie Wilderness north of Dubois, Wyoming.

Grizzly country.
It was easy street with Don and Maryellen’s travel trailer. Coffee in the morning around the campfire was particularly sweet! We ate pretty good too thanks to Don’s preparation.
Exploration at 10,000 feet
Deep enough for kayaks? No?
Keep on going!
Don dragging collected firewood to our fire pit.
Oh, and Don brought a couple of e-bikes for exploring the roads winding thru Shoshone National Forest.

Geezers in the high mountains.

We’re out here for all the geezers that are not able to pull this off anymore. I think about how lucky we are. And to make sure, we each carry bear spray.
I can see for miles…
